Holy Communion is an ordinance of the church. An ordinance is a practice that declares what we believe. When the church takes Holy Communion we declare that Jesus Christ gave Himself to die for our salvation. The bread represents his body and the wine represents his blood. Through this ordinance we remember what Christ did for us in His death and resurrection. As we remember, we also celebrate the victory Jesus won in providing everyone a way to be in spiritual fellowship with God our heavenly Father, and each other as brothers and sisters in Christ. We do this on the first Sunday of each month by coming to Christ's table of fellowship and sharing a common cup of wine and
loaf of bread.
